Profile
Sydney Donohue joined the Center for Water and the Environment team in 2020 after teaching sustainability, gardening, and environmental science to middle and high school students at The Mountain Retreat and Learning Center in Highlands, North Carolina and more recently, here in New Mexico at Albuquerque Academy. Donohue received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Ecology from the University of Georgia. This interdisciplinary program emphasized both natural and social sciences to better consider the human dimensions of ecological issues. She has spent time in Georgia, Hawai’i, Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji studying how humans interact with the environment. She is driven to create an inviting community where diversity is celebrated in STEM, and she is enthusiastic about the impact that hands-on, environmental outreach can have on creating a better future.
